Why Mannakind?
Manna
In the Bible, the Lord provided manna to feed the children of Israel for 40 years in the wilderness.
Described as bread from heaven, manna not only fed the children of Isreal, but it also serves as symbol of Christ, who is the Bread of Life.
"The bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world." —John 6:33
Kind
There is power in kindness! Kindness is being friendly, helpful, and empathetic. Small acts of kindness and giving love to others show that we love Christ.
"By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." —Alma 37:6
MANNA + KIND
Manna helped the Israelites remember the Lord, heed His guidance, and love Him.
Being kind is showing love to others and ourselves. In part, the words manna and kind represent the two great commandments.
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." —Matthew 22:37-39
MANNAKIND ≈ MANKIND
All mankind are children of God. And as we see each other deeply as children of God we will be more like Christ-impacting and changing the world for the better.
